The research team of Dynamiques Rurales is part of the CNRS Team LISST. It is a

multidisciplinary research team gathering full-time researchers, professors and associate

professors involved in 4 disciplines : geography, sociology, economics and management. Its

research focus on rural studies and its renewal.

In a context where rural areas are challenged in many ways (by globalization, solidarity and transmission between generations, production and food security, climate change, management of resources, governance, institutional change and issues of power) our reaserch as a team aims at understanding contemporary dynamics that affect what rural and rurality stands for.

Dynamiques Rurales investigates rural dynamics in multiple research fields located in North and South. The team also has a strong commitment to education via academic activities and thus develops a range of degrees (master and doctorates) about rurality in different spatial and social contexts.
